Faye Cox Celebrant

Hi, I’m Faye

People often ask me why I became a celebrant.

Becoming a celebrant wasn’t something I’d always planned. It came from a very personal place.

I lost my nan and my dad within a close space of time, and those experiences changed the way I thought about life, loss and, most importantly, the way we tell someone’s story when they’re no longer here.

When I began training as a celebrant, I made myself a promise that has stayed with me ever since: I would treat every person who has died as though they were my own dad, and every family as though they were my own.

Because behind every funeral or celebration of life is someone’s person. Someone deeply loved, with their own stories, quirks, routines, humour and memories. I want every service I lead to capture those things and feel as unique as the person we’re remembering.

But being a celebrant isn’t only about saying goodbye.

I absolutely love telling love stories too. Weddings bring me so much joy, but vow renewals hold a particularly special place in my heart. There is something incredibly moving about two people who have lived through years of real life together standing side by side and saying, “I’d still choose you.”

Every life story and every love story is different, and I feel an enormous sense of pride when I’m trusted to tell them.

Whether I’m leading a wedding, vow renewal, funeral or celebration of life, I never forget what an honour it is to be invited into such an important moment in people’s lives.

For me, being a celebrant isn’t simply about conducting ceremonies.

It’s about people. It’s about their stories, and ultimately, it’s about love.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me organising family trips, sports activities for my two daughters and walking our two gorgeous Shetland Collies. As a wife and mum, and natural born organiser, I spend a lot of time making sure that everyone is where they need to be, and everything is all sorted to meet the needs of myself and my family, which it what makes me a great Independent Celebrant, to have working alongside you to create the perfect, bespoke ceremony to meet your needs and desires.

With a history of Executive Assistant work, teaching, coaching and therapy I have been able to transfer all these key skills and knowledge into my Celebrancy work and bring a wealth of empathy, understanding, compassion and calm to make sure that your chosen ceremony is the best it can be.

I absolutely love finding out what makes people tick, how people met, how they’re different and what’s behind their story. I love to see people’s faces when they read the scripts I’ve written, when I feel the joy and pride of knowing that I have helped people to bring their ceremony to life.

I love knowing that someone has been remembered in a way that is truly fitting to them in a room full of people who knew and shared their life with them.

I am extremely lucky to be doing what I love and what comes so naturally to me!

I’d love to help you create the perfect ceremony for you, whether that be a Wedding, Vow Renewal, Naming Ceremony or Funeral Service/Celebration of Life, so if you’d like to find out more, get in touch today!
